I live in a densely populated region on the slopes of the Taunus Mountains in Germany. In my city, lost between roads, highways, and industrial parks there is a small wood that is barely 1 kilometre square, a stream about 4 kilometres long and a pool used by the municipal fishing club. These – the wood, the stream and the pool – therefore are the three landscapes where I carry out my photographic fieldwork.
However, as photography is not a science, it took a long time for me to learn to trust my intuition, and to develop the abilities of “working the scene” and post-processing the images in a consistent way.
Slowly, the Local Landscapes Project takes shape…
